Shooting days

All shooting days of a project by month — create them with times and location, edit, duplicate, delete — and what each row tells you.

The shooting days are the frame of the planning: you spread scenes, team and cast across them, and the call sheet, daily report, sound report and catering hang off them. You see the Shooting days tab with the read right for shooting days; creating, changing and deleting are rights of their own.

The list

1 Add a shooting day creates a new day. 2 Per month a heading with the number of shooting days and scenes and the progress. 3 One row per shooting day.

Date and day numberrow
When the shoot is and which shooting day it is.
Statusrow
New, Planning, Ready, Running or Completed — on the shooting day itself, Today as well.
Daily reportrow
If the day has a daily report, its state stands in the row.
Location, crew, scenesrow
Where the shoot is, how many people are scheduled and how many scenes lie on the day.
Costs and performancefrom the daily report
If the daily report has costs, the day's total stands in the row. Next to it, in percent, how many of the planned scenes were actually shot.

Tapping a row opens the shooting day (see A shooting day in detail). Even a long production stays smooth: only the months in view are drawn.

New shooting day

1 Day number and Date. 2 The project's Location — or Type it in… for a place without a location of its own. 3 The times: Crew call, Shooting start, Lunch break until the End of the lunch break, and Planned wrap.

Notes take what the team must know beforehand; later they stand at the top of the day view. Each day number exists only once in a project: if it is taken, the form names the day that has it and the next free one. The crew call has to be before the shooting start. Create creates the shooting day, and the team gets a notification.

Through Shooting days in the sidebar you see the shooting days of all your projects on one page. There, New shooting day walks you through five steps: Project & date, the day's scenes, Crew & cast, Plan the run of the day and Finish with the summary. If you choose no crew of your own, the project's core team stands on the shooting day.

Editing, duplicating, deleting

At the top of the day view, Edit opens Edit the shooting day: the same fields plus the Status. Once scenes lie on the day, each scene gets its own location; the day's location field then goes away. Duplicate creates a copy as a new shooting day — the scenes stay with the original.

Delete asks first and takes along everything that exists only for this day: call sheet, daily report, sound report, catering orders and the scheduling of team and cast, together with their lines in the budget. Afterwards the day's scenes are unscheduled again, and equipment bookings for the day are dropped. Tasks stay and only lose the link to the day. The team gets a notification that the shooting day is cancelled.
