Creating a contract
Create a contract blank, from a template or from an earlier project — party, terms, signature and clauses.
A contract starts as a draft. As long as it is one, you can change everything; only releasing it for signature freezes it. Whoever holds the right Create contracts may create one.
The ways to a contract
Add a contract opens two ways: Create starts blank, 1 From templates takes over a template's clauses and terms. If the project belongs to a series, From previous projects joins them: it takes over a contract from another project of the series.
A template pays off for everything that is always the same — the crew contract, the consent, the non-disclosure agreement. How to create one is described under Templates & standard signatures.
The details
1 Give it a title. 2 Choose the contracting party. 3 Who is responsible for the production and countersigns.
Client contract: correction rounds
With the category Client contract the Correction rounds section is added: how many rounds are included, what each further one costs and how many working days the client has to answer. A delivery's approval counts against it and shows, for example, "Round 2 of 2"; a round beyond that becomes a budget item instead of a discussion.
Consent: purposes
A Consent carries its purposes — such as publication on the website or in social media. Whoever signs ticks each purpose separately; the PDF then shows which purposes are granted.
Opening and editing the draft
The new contract is in the list under Draft; a tap opens it. At the top it says what to do next — here 1 Release for signature.
With Edit you change all details and the clauses: heading and text per clause, adding new ones, removing old ones. Everything is saved automatically.
What happens if …
| If … | then … |
|---|---|
| you enter a fee | it appears at once as a planned item in the project's budget. |
| the party has no login | they sign via a link sent by e-mail — without an account. |
| you delete a draft | it is gone. A signed contract cannot be deleted — it is evidence. |
