Breakdown in the screenplay
Mark roles, props, looks, vehicles, stunts and more right in the text, link them with the project, have the AI suggest them and print breakdown sheets.
In the breakdown you take the screenplay apart into what is needed on set. You mark it right in the text; linked with the project, it lands in the call sheet, the cast and the budget.
Marking
1 Select a word or a passage in the text. 2 Mark — on a tablet under More — opens the categories; a tap on a category marks the passage.
The categories are sorted into groups:
| Group | Categories |
|---|---|
| Cast | Role, Extra, Animal |
| Look & make-up | Look / costume, Make-up |
| Props & vehicles | Prop, Weapon, Set dressing, Special equipment, Vehicle |
| Scene & notes | Stunt, SFX (practical), VFX (digital), Sound / music, Note |
If the term appears more often, marking all occurrences marks every place at once.
Linking with the project
A mark on its own stands only in the screenplay. Only once linked does it show up in the call sheet, the cast and the budget: linking searches for the matching element in the project — a role, a prop, a vehicle. If it does not exist yet, creating and linking it makes it right away. A look always belongs to a role; you choose the role along with it. Only mark it, without linking leaves it as a note in the text.
On an existing mark you change the link (Change), Change the category or remove it — Remove here only or everywhere.
Import entries
1 Scenes and roles from the screenplay's structure. 2 Your marks per pool, without duplicates. 3 Select, then create or link.
Import entries collects the planning the screenplay contains. For scenes that already exist in the project it shows the differences — such as another setting, another time of day or page length — and takes them over. Stunts, SFX and VFX set the scene's requirements; sound and notes stay hints in the text.
Breakdown tools
After a revision, affected breakdown elements are marked for review. Once you have checked an element, you confirm it as checked.
What happens when …
| When … | then … |
|---|---|
| you link a mark | it appears in the call sheet, the cast and the budget. |
| you mark a look but there is no role yet | the menu says a look belongs to a role; create the role first. |
| you remove a mark everywhere | it disappears from every place; the element in the project stays. |
| the AI has made suggestions | Complete the marks stays locked until you have decided them. |
| a revision changes scenes | their breakdown elements are marked for review. |
