Props

A project's props — from need to return, kind, source and condition, duplicates, storage, contract and costs, permits, insurance and the assignment to shooting days.

Props are everything the characters pick up or that stands on set: the letter, the weapon, the car, the sofa. You see the tab with the read right for props.

The list

1 Props in total, on set and still needed. 2 The filters by status; you pick the category in the bar below. 3 One row per prop.

A prop's status is Needed, Being sourced, Confirmed, On set or Returned. The Prop list downloads all props as a CSV file.

The prop in detail

1 The prop's tabs: Overview, Scenes and Contract & costs — permits and insurance stand there too. 2 Technical data: category, pieces, condition, storage location and when the prop is available. Description, photos and notes follow below, then Origin & provider with procurement, supplier and supplier contact.

Contract & coststab
If you link a contract of the project, the costs run through the contract; the prop then books no budget line of its own. Open contract jumps there.
Permitssection
What a prop needs before it may go on set: weapon, Pyrotechnics, vehicle or Other, each Granted or Denied.
Insurancesection
Whether Insurance required applies, with Insured value, Policy, Excess and Premium.

Props for a shooting day

In the shooting day, the Props tab shows everything needed on that day. Assigning puts further props of the project on the day. Props that appear in the day's scenes stand there by themselves.

What happens when …

When …then …

a permit is deniedthe prop stands with the note until a new one is granted.
a prop is marked and linked in the screenplayit stands in the scenes it appears in and on their shooting days.
you delete a propthe app asks first; deleting is final.
you are offlineyou still change props; the changes go out as soon as you are back online.
