Shot list
Every set-up of a scene as a row — size, movement, camera angle, framing, focus, lens, lighting, reference image and the place in the screenplay — ticked off on set once it is shot.
The shot list plans the coverage: which set-ups does a scene need, and how are they shot? It hangs off the project's scenes — without scenes there are no shots yet. You see the tab with the read right for shots.
The shot list
1 How much is already done: scenes, shots and the share done. 2 The scenes — one scene or all scenes. 3 All or only To do. 4 One row per shot.
Each row has these columns:
Adding, ordering, ticking off shots
Add shot appends a new shot to the scene. You change the order by dragging or through the menu on the shot; the numbers follow the order. Mark as done ticks a shot off, Mark as open takes the tick back. Delete shot asks first; the remaining shots are renumbered.
Connecting with the screenplay
Assign a place in the screenplay connects the shot with the place in the screenplay it covers. Afterwards Open in the screenplay opens exactly that place, Show the sides shows the scene's text beside the shot list, and Undo the link removes the connection again.
What happens when …
| When … | then … |
|---|---|
| there are no scenes yet | the shot list says you create scenes first. |
| you delete a shot | the remaining ones are renumbered. |
| you choose To do | only the shots not ticked off yet are shown. |
| the assigned place in the screenplay changes | the shot stays connected; Open in the screenplay jumps to the new place. |
| several people tick off on set | each sees the others' state at once. |
