Media pool
All of the project's files in one place — fixed folders per tool, uploads that resume, search down into pictures and speech, preview, section, alt text, AI label and protection against deletion.
Every file of the project lies in the media pool: scouting photos, cast portraits, contracts, receipts, screenplay backups, daily reports, storyboard pictures and in the end the delivery. Every tool puts its files into its own folder, so you always find them in the same place. You see the tab with the read right for media.
The folders
1 The project's folders. 2 Search the media pool …. 3 The content of the chosen folder with count and total size.
The system creates the folders: for example Screenplay, Roles, Locations, Looks, Continuity, Props, Scenes, Tasks, Daily reports, Catering, Scouting reports, Receipts, Contracts, Shot list, Storyboard, Moodboards, Casting, Cast portraits, one folder per shooting day with its date, Guest uploads and Delivery. You create folders of your own in the Delivery — there you decide the structure yourself; everywhere else it stays fixed.
Uploading
Drag files onto Drop the files here or tap to choose them. During the upload you see the progress; videos are processed afterwards. If the connection drops, you choose the same file again and the upload continues where it stopped — what was transferred is kept. Interrupted uploads stand in a list with Continue; on continuing, the file is checked to be really the same one. A file that is already in the pool is not uploaded a second time.
Finding, viewing, editing
The search finds files by name, folder and description. Describe the image adds a description and keywords, Transcribe the audio writes down what is spoken — afterwards the search finds the file by that too.
1 View opens the preview — a tap on the row only selects the file. 2 The file's menu: Download, Describe the image, Verify integrity, Rename with name and alt text, Move and Delete — while the file is still used, In use stands there and it stays.
Selecting, moving, deleting
With selecting you mark several files and download, move or delete them together. Move to puts a file or a folder into another folder; files in original quality only go into delivery folders.
Two safeguards prevent anything important from being lost:
What happens when …
| When … | then … |
|---|---|
| the upload breaks off | you choose the same file again and it continues where it stopped. |
| you upload a file that already exists | it is not uploaded twice; the message names the existing one. |
| you want to delete a file that is in use | that is not possible; Used in shows where it hangs. |
| a file is held under retention | it is locked until the date named. |
| a shooting day has its own folder | the shooting day's Media library tab shows exactly that folder. |
| you lack the read right for media | you do not see the tab. |
